"Reports are sorta hard to trust"
The reporting has been the most frustrating part for me. The charts don’t always line up with my actual transactions, some exports seem to miss categories, and the trends page feels sorta random. I tried using it for monthly budgeting, but after fixing the same numbers over and over, I eventually gave up.

"To be fair, the app does what…"
To be fair, the app does what it’s supposed to do, but the menus feel a bit clunky to navigate. I think with a cleaner layout or a little better flow, the overall experience would feel much smoother.

"Still can’t get a clear picture"
I’m still having trouble seeing my full financial picture clearly. I contacted support hoping for a quick answer, but I kept getting transferred from one person to another, which made the whole thing even more frustrating. I just want everything to be easy to view and understand

"I tried Monarch during the free trial, and…"
I tried monarch during the free trial, and overall it was decent. Getting set up was simple, and I did like having all my accounts pulled into one place. That part felt genuinely useful. The problem was that a couple of my connections kept needing attention, which got annoying quickly. For something I’d be paying full price for, I’d expect it to feel a bit more reliable and polished. I can see the value in it, but based on my trial, it’s not quite worth the cost for me right now. I might give it another look later if the sync issues improve.

"I tried switching over to Monarch because…"
I tried switching over to Monarch because I wanted to have everything in one place, including tracking receipts and email confirmations, but it just didn’t work out for me. About half of my accounts wouldn’t connect, and my local credit union wasn’t even listed. At that point it’s not very useful, since I’d still have to track a bunch of stuff manually.

"Decent app, but the price is hard to justify"
I tried Monarch.com for a little while because I’ve been attempting to get better about tracking my money, especially after realizing I had no idea where half my takeout budget was going. It’s not a bad tool by any means, and it looks nice enough, but the monthly price just felt a bit too high for what I was actually using it for. For a subscription, I expected either more features I’d genuinely use or just better overall value. There are cheaper apps out there that do enough for my needs, and since I only check budgeting stuff once in a while, usually when I’m already avoiding some other chore, it’s tough to justify paying for it every month...

"The web app kept freezing on me"
I tried using the web app, but it kept freezing over and over. Pages were loading super slowly, and nothing seemed to sync the way it was supposed to. Come on now, I just wanted it to work without fighting it the whole time

"I kept checking my balances, but…"
I kept checking my balances, but they were wrong, and then you’d refresh or look again and it still showed old information. It got frustrating because you expect the updates to be current, but they just weren’t.

"Pretty useful, but the investment tracking can be iffy"
I mostly use monarch to keep track of my investments, and when everything syncs properly, it’s helpful. That said, I’ve noticed the values don’t always seem totally up to date, and sometimes the holdings look a little off. Maybe it’s just how certain accounts connect, I’m not sure, but it can be kind of frustrating. It’s not enough to make me stop using it, but I guess I expected the investment side to feel a bit more polished.

"Support took too long and did not really help"
I did hear back from support , but it took a few days , and my sync problem still was not really fixed . They mostly sent me links I had already tried , so it felt like I was just going in circles . Frustrating experience overall .

"Goals keep resetting"
So, yeah, my goals keep resetting for some reason. I’ll set them up, and then when I come back, they’re just not how I left them. It’s kind of frustrating because I’m trying to track things consistently, but, like, I have to keep fixing it

"Wish it had more customization options"
I really wanted to like Monarch, but the customization just feels limited. I kept running into little things I couldn’t change or set up the way I wanted, which got frustrating fast. Some options seem like they should be there and just aren’t, kind of weird, honestly. For what it costs, I expected it to be a lot more flexible.

"Sync issues make it hard to trust"
My accounts sync weirdly, and the net worth number is wrong more often than it should be. I’m trying to get a quick, accurate picture of my finances, but when the main total is off, it’s like... give me a break. Frustrating overall.

"I like Monarch overall, and when it…"
I like Monarch overall, and when it works, it’s really helpful. Groceries, gas, and the obvious stuff usually come through fine, but random Amazon or Target purchases keep getting dumped into strange categories. I’ve spent way more time than I expected fixing the same merchants over and over. It does learn sometimes after I make edits, but not consistently enough. I finally ended up escalating it as a complaint because for the price, I really expected the categorization to be more accurate right out of the box. It’s not a bad app, but this part gets frustrating. 3 stars feels fair.

"Setup was a headache"
I kept trying to get it set up, but it just kept failing every time. Support tried to help, but they made it more confusing, or maybe not more confusing, just not any clearer. I ended up feeling frustrated with the whole process.

"Why do I always have to deal with manual transactions?"
Manual transactions are such a hassle. It feels like every time I’m just trying to get something simple done, I end up stuck doing extra steps that take forever. Maybe it’s just my luck, but this kind of thing always seems to make things harder than they need to be.

"Just didn’t work out for me"
I tried switching over from Mint, but it just never really felt right, like right from the start. My accounts kept syncing weird, some old transactions were messy messy, and I ended up spending way too much time trying to fix things instead of actually using the app. For something paid, I expected it to be smoother. I gave it a few days, but I canceled...

"A bit clunky to use"
the app just feels kind of clunky. It takes me way too long to find what I’m looking for, which gets frustrating quickly

"Made cash flow tracking harder than it should be"
I tried Monarch mostly to keep an eye on cash flow, but it turned into a hassle. Transfers would show up weird, balances didn’t always line up, and the monthly view kept making my spending look off. It felt like something simple was being made way harder than it needed to be. I ended up spending more time fixing and double-checking things than actually using it, so it just wasn’t worth it for me

"Constant Sync Problems"
My accounts keep disconnecting every few days, and half the time the balances aren’t even right. I feel like I spend more time fighting with the automated syncing than actually using the app for anything useful. It’s really frustrating, it’s just not worth it for me.
